Please forgive the delay in postings...Our internet connection was very poor and would not allow us to sign into any secure sites. So I will post all of our Pisa destinations today. :). The 1st day in Pisa we visited by train the northern most town of Cinque Terre "Monterosso al Mare" after having breakfast at our hotel including Scilian style OJ (I'm guessing it is made from blood oranges...tastes more like grapefruit juice, but smells like OJ, really confused my tastebuds)
Monterosso al Mare is very pretty, but not really our speed. This time of year is more like Myrtle Beach :(
We did find a very nice restaurant to have lunch, not far from the ocean. Miky's (here's to you DAD). We had a wonderful meal including seared sea scallops with bacon, pickled onion and black truffles. What a treat. It was nice to get a good look at the Italian Riveria, but after 5 hours on hot, crowded trains (btw...these are not the fancy bullet trains, these are the equivalent to a city bus on the poor side of town). We arrived back to our hotel soaked and exhausted. My sweet husband found a local pizzeria and treated us to pizza in our air conditioned room! What a hero :)
