I'm sure you've noticed that i've combined two days, as 1 was a travel day and the other a "sort of" rest day.  We left Florence, and for the 1st time...driving- notice our Toyota hybrid we were pleasantly surprised to receive and not the clown car we expected.  Chris is driving- I am the offical navigator...and considering I do not speak/read Italian, cannot convert from the metric system and don't recognize any driving signs or rules...I also officially suck :P  We have learned that while Italians have infinite patience for a 3-4 hour dinner (sometimes waiting up to hour just for the check), many have no patience when behind the wheel of a car.  They honk, yell, cut you off and generally are very agressive.  We arrived more than a little flustered at our Tuscan residence in the country, but still managed to go out for pizza!

Our hosts let us know that a small town near us was holding their annual renaissance festival (known for its handmade crafts/antiques, musical fanfare in full renaissance costumes, flag throwing ceremonies and even a jousting tournament).  We tried to acquire jousting tickets online, but ended up having to buy them in person and got a small taste of the town in full swing.  We happened to see these 2 interesting sculptures made entirely out of cutlery!  Tune back in tomorrow as we view the craft market, take in more pagentry and watch the jousting tournament.  (True jousting is not done anymore, probably because it was so violent...so what we will probably see are men on horseback with lances hitting wooden targets).  I hope to give you more history tomorrow.
